Diagnosis.
This species is similar to
S. undecimpunctata
in elytra with 11 black spots, but can be distinguished from the latter by pronotum without black spots, spots on elytra small (
Figs 110–112
), short and stout penis (
Fig. 281
), thin neck-form apex of penis guide (
Fig. 283
). In
S. undecimpunctata
, pronotum has two black spots, spots on elytra are large, penis long and slender, apical portion of penis guide strongly curved, forming a fishing-hook.
Description.
TL:
2.93–3.13 mm
, TW:
2.67–2.80 mm
, TH:
1.55–1.71 mm
, TL/TW: 1.10–1.12; PL/PW: 0.42– 0.44; EL/EW: 0.88–0.89; HW/TW: 0.31; PW/TW: 0.64.
Head yellow. Pronotum yellow and scutellum yellowish brown. Elytra predominantly yellow, each elytron with 6 small black rounded spots disposed as follows: spot 1 situated near the humeral callus (not touching basal margin); spot 2 resting near 2/5 length of elytral suture, almost touching the suture; spot 3 largest, situated on disc slightly before half length of elytra; spot 4 on the 2/5 length of elytral margin, the diameter of the spot about as wide as its distance to margin; spots 5 and 6 on the centre of basal 1/3 of elytra, transversely arranged (
Figs 110– 112
). Underside yellow; metaventrite yellowish brown. Legs yellow.
Body almost circular in outline, hemispherical, shiny and glabrous. Head frontal punctures fine, 1.5–3.0 diameters apart, with short sparse setae, interocular distance of eyes 0.65x head width (
Fig. 112
).
Pronotal punctures fine and dense distributed, 1.0–2.5 diameters apart, slightly larger than those on head. Elytral punctures fine and sparsely distributed, slightly smaller than those on pronotum, 2.0–4.0 diameters apart. Elytral margins moderately wide, visible from above.
Prosternal punctures inconspicuous, with long sparse setae. Mesoventral surface shiny, punctures inconspicuous, with scattered long sparse setae. Metaventrite shiny, covered by coarse and sparse punctures, with short setae. Elytral epipleuron broad, complete to apex, very feebly foveate to accommodate femoral tips of hind legs. Wings well-developed.
Male genitalia: Penis simple and stout, strongly curved at base, widest at base, gradually narrowing to apex, capsule broadening basally and with a small inner process, apex pointed and slightly curved (
Fig. 281
); tegmen with penis guide slightly longer than parameres, in lateral view stout and straight, widest at base, gradually narrowing to apex, apex pointed and slightly curved (
Fig. 282
); penis guide in ventral view elongate subtriangular, apex thin neck-form (
Fig. 283
); parameres slender, with short setae apically.
Female genitalia: Ovipositor elongate and narrowly triangular, styli inconspicuous, each with many long terminal setae (
Fig. 284
).
