Background brick red to nearly black, pale marks pale yellow to orange-red. Pronotum with sides weakly convex and less transverse. Interstices of elytron with pale dilated and raised areas bearing setal tufts; 3rd at base and apex, 5th at apex, 7th at middle, basally, and a minute tuft apically. Humeri pale, margin of elytron weakly explanate, 3x width of marginal bead. Male with pygidium truncate to weakly emarginate, anal sclerite broad and weakly narrowly emarginate. Length 5.2–6.1mm , Width 1.9–2.4mm . Lectotype ɗ, labeled: (glued to card with Ψ) " Brachypeplus guttatus , Types D.S., Honolulu" / " Type H.T." / "Sharp Coll. 1905–313." (BMNH). Paralectotypes : 3 Ψ, 6 ɗ (BMNH). 1 Ψ, 3 ɗ (BPBM).
