REMARKS
Dossou (1982)
described this species in
Benin
, but confused the identification with
C. gallus
Pariselle & Euzet, 1995
(see below under
Cichlidogyrus gallus
). The specimens of
C. aegypticus
from
T. louka
and
T. walteri
show a shape of the vagina slightly different from that described on
T. zillii
, which was not deemed sufficient for
Pariselle & Euzet (1996)
to create a new species.
