Ampla
Complex
Three species comprise the
Ampla
Complex:
H. ampla
,
H. manabica
, and
H. cochabamba
. These are medium sized to large species (ca.
1.44–1.97 mm
), which have a wide body form, are uniformly darkly colored dorsally, and lack a pronotal scintilla (
Figs. 126–127
,
130
). The mesoventral intercoxal process (P2) is comparatively narrow, and the metaventrite does not have plaques. The male genitalia in this complex have a basic plan similarity, having the apex with three processes (one from the main piece and two from the distal piece), the gonopore bearing process is tube-like, pointing from the right to the left side, and the parameres are relatively short and originate near the distal piece (
Figs. 128–129
,
132
). Species in this complex are currently known from
Bolivia
(
H. cochabamba
) and
Ecuador
(
H. ampla
and
H. manabica
).
