Remarks.
The male of ssp.
subhuti
cannot be separated from that of ssp.
kansuensis
soundly, as the former falls within the range of individual variation of the latter. However, the female of ssp.
subhuti
bears an orange ground color in the postdiscal area of the hindwing upper side, looking like that of
P. matuta shii

, whereas the female of ssp.
kansuensis
, at most, bears some whitish spots on a grayish brown ground color in the postdiscal area of the hindwing upper side.
Distribution.
Northern Qinghai (Heimahe, southwest of Qinghai Lake).
