Type data : Holotype Ψ, Taipei: Yangmingshan ( 680m ; N25°10´ E121°34´ ), 18-Aug.-1999 , Huang & Wang; ex Melastoma candidum D. Don (Melastomataceae) . (deposited at NMNS ). Paratypes , 3Ψ, data same as for holotype . Relation to host : A vagrant on the lower leaf surface. No apparent damage was observed. Remarks : This new species is close to N. wendlandiae Wei et Qin, 2002 by the shield design with median line from base to basal 3/4, and form 6 cells between admedian lines. This new species differs from N. wendlandiae by the following characters: the shield design with 5 cells on each lateral side, and the 3-rayed empodium. Etymology : The specific designation is derived from the locality “ Taiwan ”, in reference to this being the first species of Nothopoda Keifer, 1951 found in Taiwan .
