Colonies are rhizoid, umbonate, curled and bright brown colored after 7 days on ISP2 at 30° C. Positive for esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, gelatinase and oxidase in API 20NE, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction and urease. Does not utilize capric acid, phenylacetic acid and trisodium citrate, but utilize N -acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, L-arabinose, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose and potassium gluconate. Strain TW 1S1 (= NIBRBAC 000498102) has been isolated from soil, Daejeon , Korea .
