Male holotype and female paratype from Morro do Pai Inácio ( 12°27’27”S ; 41°28’23”W ), Lençóis, Bahia, Brazil , 23.X.1999 , Freddy Bravo leg., deposited in IBSP 166246; 166247 respectively. Paratypes : male from Carmo do Rio Claro, Minas Gerais, Brazil , X.1947 , J.C. de Carvalho, deposited in MNRJ 13163 and female from Parque Nacional da Serra do Cipó, Santana do Riacho, Minas Gerais, Brazil , V.1998 , A.J. Santos, deposited in MNRJ . Etymology . The specific name is a patronymic in honor of Freddy Bravo, the collector of the types from Bahia. Diagnosis . Males of Umuara freddyi resemble those of Umuara fasciata by the shape of the apophysis of embolic process (see Brescovit, 1997 , figs. 242–245), but can be recognized by the retrolateral tibial apophysis long and not bifid ( Figs. 2 D, E). Females resemble those of U. junin by the epigynum with large median hood and curved lateral borders (see Brescovit, 1997 , figs. 255–256), but can be distinguished by the more elongated median hood and by the lateral borders not curved basally ( Fig. 2 G).
