Huber 2011 : 61 , figs 65, 74, 202–206. Diagnosis . Males can be easily distinguished from closest known relatives ( C. anai , C. deelemanae , C. phasmoides ) by bulbal appendix (three distinct tines instead of just one with tiny subdistal process; Figs 81–88 , 93 ); from C. anai and C. phasmoides also by distally strongly bent procursus (figs 202–203 in Huber 2011 ; very similar to C. deelemanae ). Females of these four species appear indistinguishable externally, but the crescentshaped internal membranous ‘sac’ of C. subphyllicola (fig. 206 in Huber 2011 ) might be distinctive. Elias ). Notes . Previously, this species was known from its type locality only (Langub, near Davao ). The new material is partly from very close to the type locality (Malagos; ~ 20 km NW of Langub), partly from localities further north and west (up to ~ 170 km from Langub). There is slight variation in the shape of the appendix, both within and among localities, but a significant separation seems to exist between eastern localities (Langub, Malagos, Santo Domingo ; Figs 81–84 ) and western localities (Mount Mupo, Camp Abubakar; Figs 85–88 ). Since no or only minimal further morphological differences were seen in the male palp and in the internal female genitalia, the western populations are here tentatively assigned to this species pending further collecting and study. Tibia 1 in new material: 31 males : 8.2–11.2 (mean 9.2); 50 females : 6.2–7.5 (mean 6.9). Natural history . At Malangob, this species shared plants (and sometimes individual leaves) with Pholcus domingo Huber. Two egg-sacs contained 9 eggs each, perfectly lined up in a single row ( Fig. 10 ). Distribution . Widely distributed in Mindanao ( Fig. 281 ), but possibly absent from eastern Mindanao (not found at Maragusan , Mount Mayo, and Mount Hamiguitan) and from southern Mindanao (not found on Mount Matutum).
