( Fig. 9 B) Diagnosis. Pselaphomorphus carenobothrus is characterized by the combination of antennae without evident clava and the head longitudinal sulcus broader than eye diameter. Description. Male. Body length 2.5 mm . Body flattened dorsally, brown, with yellow pilosity. Head pearshaped (length 0.7 mm , width 0.4 mm ), base of the antennal tubercle as long as diameter of eye. Longitudinal sulcus broad, wider than diameter of eye in dorsal view. Eyes kidney-shaped (diameter 0.2 mm ). Antennal length 1.7 mm . Antennomere length as follows: 1 ( 0.12 mm ), 2 ( 0.06 mm ), 3 ( 0.08 mm ), 4 ( 0.1 mm ), 5 ( 0.12 mm ), 6 ( 0.08 mm ), 7 to 10 ( 0.14 mm ), and 11 ( 0.3 mm ), clava absent. Maxillary palpi light brown, with short and even pilosity. Pronotum square (length and with 0.5 mm ). Lateral lobes broad, triangular, basally and apically round. Antebasal lobe rectangular, at least five times wider than long. Pronotal disc quadrate, longitudinal and transverse sulci with same widths thoroughly. Elytra length 0.8 mm , width 0.9 mm . Humeral teeth absent, humeral elevation present. Sutural fovea round and deep, sutural stria extending beyond middle of elytra. Basal discal fovea rounded, followed by discal depression. Abdominal segments I–V, dorsally with length as follows: 0.3, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1 (mm), ventrally with segment V rounded distally, segment VI with round depression, pygidial suture present. Genitalia. Phallobase regular with short arms. Median lobe long and slender, not projecting up. Only one accessory lobe, flattened, articulated to base arms and spirally surrounding median lobe. Named for the characteristic broad head sulcus, from the Greek careno meaning ‘head’ and bothros meaning ‘pit’ or ‘trench’.
