DISCUSSION: Within
Austrodapus
there is variability in the size and overall coloration; some specimens are more castaneous whereas others are more dark brown, and those collected more to the northern part of the range tend to be larger than specimens from the southern part. However there are no differences in the genitalia, coloration of the cuneus, the partial transverse fascia, appendages, or antennae to indicate that color differences warrant separation into separate species.
