HOLOTYPE . — MMNS VP 445. It includes a partially preserved skull, dentaries, upper and lower dentitions, petro-tympanic complex, humerus, radius, ulna, cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebrae. TYPE LOCALITY. — Cynthia Clay Pit, Hinds County , Mississippi , USA . TYPE HORIZON. — Yazoo Clay Formation, Priabonian, late Eocene. EMENDED DIAGNOSIS. — Cynthiacetus maxwelli differs mainly from C. peruvianus in having one more cusp on both mesial and distal edges on p3 and p4 (5 and 6 denticles respectively in p3 and p4). It also possesses a longer and lower dome-shaped neural arch on the atlas and shorter and more massive humerus, radius and ulna (cf. below).
