Gard. 38(2): 186. 1951 ; second-step lectotype designated here ):— BRAZIL . Amazonas : Santa Izabel, Rio Negro , 9 Dec 1931 , A . Ducke s.n. [ A . Ducke [24568]] ( RB [barcode 00535045!]; isolectotype: US [barcode 00111800 image!]). Notes — Müller-Argoviensis (1860a) indicated the gathering Spruce 2265 in the prologue of A . spruceanum but did not cite in which herbarium the type would be deposited. Thus, we chose the most complete specimen from this collection as the lectotype of A . spruceanum (C barcode C10005745) (ICN article 9.3; Turland et al. 2018 ). Also, from the two gatherings indicated in the protologue of A . igapoanum by Markgraf (1935b) , Woodson (1951) cited the collection “Ducke 24568” ( Ducke s.n. , herbarium RB No. 24568) as the type. However, since this gathering has more than one specimen , it was necessary to narrow Woodson’s (1951) typification by electing a specimen from a Brazilian herbarium as the second-step lectotype of A . igapoanum (RB barcode 00535045) (ICN article 9.17; Turland et al. 2018 ). It is worth mentioning that the flowering specimens of A . igapoanum from herbaria RB, S, and U collected on September 9 th , 1935 , and June 10 th , 1937 , should not be treated as syntypes since they were collected after the species publication ( March 31 st , 1935 ).
