( Figs 3 A–H; Tables 5–6 ) Type material. Holotype ♂, MZSP 57222 , Santa Maria, Boyaca, Colombia , 7 .VIII. 2005 , D. Weinmann & L. Alvarez leg . Paratypes : ♀, MZSP 57223 , same data as holotype ; ♂, SMF , Guamal, Meta, Colombia , 13 .VIII. 2005 , D. Weinmann leg. Etymology. The species epithet is in honor of Amanda Elisa Monteiro, (spouse of JPLG ) for her constant support of JPLG’s arachnological research and academic activities. Diagnosis. Males of E. amandae differ from those of other species by the uniquely bifid aspect of the palpal bulb embolus ( Figs 3 A–C), which is composed of the embolus and a small keel, and by the short spines on the retrolateral face of palpal tibia ( Figs 3 E, F). Females are unusual in the shape of spermathecae ( Figs 3 G, H), composed of two protuberant triangular receptacles, far from each other (when compared to E. colonicus ), with two conspicuous longitudinal striae on the dorsal face. Description. Male ( MZSP 57222 ). Total length: 18.8 . Carapace: length 10.9 ; width 9 . Eye tubercle: length 1.6 ; width 1.8 . Labium: length 1.2 ; width 2 . Sternum: length 4.9 ; width 3.9 . Basal segment of chelicerae with 9–10 teeth. Labium subquadrate, with more than 200 cuspules. Maxillae with more than 150 cuspules, each one. Sternum rounded, slight bulge near labium, posterior sigilla away from sternal margin. Thoracic fovea straight, narrow. Spines: Palp: femur (d) 0-0-p 1 , tibia (p) ap 1 , (r) 9 thick spines. Legs: I: femur (d) 0-0-p 1 , tibia (p) 0- 0-1 , (v) 0-2 - 1 , metatarsus (v) 1 -0-ap 2 ; II: femur (d) 0-0-p 1 , tibia (v) 2 - 2 -ap 3 , (p) 0-1 - 1 , metatarsus (v) 1 -0-ap 3 , III: femur (d) 0-0-r 1 , patella (p) 2 , tibia (r) 1 - 1 -0, (v) 2 - 2 -ap 3 , (p) 0-1 -0, metatarsus (r) 0-1 - 1 , (v) 2 - 2 -ap 3 , (p) 1 - 1 - 1 ; IV: femur (d) 0-0-r 1 , tibia (v) 2 - 2 -ap 2 , (r) 1 - 1 - 1 , metatarsus (v) 1-2 - 2 -ap 3 , (p) 1 - 1 - 1 , (r) 0-1 - 1 . Palpal bulb with short embolus, single keel on ventral surface, narrow keel with triangular tip on dorsal surface near embolus ( Figs 3 A–C). Palpal tibia swollen, with long spines in two rows ( Figs 3 E, F). Retrolateral branch of tibial spur very long, tapering, with small spine at its midlength, prolateral branch longer than contiguous spine ( Fig. 3 D). Metatarsus I bending retrolaterally to tibial spur. Metatarsal scopulae extent (ventral surfaces only): I and II, for almost entire length; III, for more than distal half; IV on less than half. Tarsal scopulae (ventral surfaces only): I–II, entire; III, entire with a longitudinal band of thick setae; IV, divided by longitudinal band of thick setae. Paired tarsal claws with row of small teeth. Golden setae cover legs, carapace and dorsal abdomen. TABLE 5 . Euthycaelus amandae sp. nov. , ♂ (MZSP 57222), length of left palp and leg segments.
