( Figs 2 , 17 –27) Diagnosis. Male with distal end of abdomen bulbous; hypandrium with sides and posterior border distinctly thickened (Fig. 27). Posterior border of clunium, over the area of the epiproct, with an elongate, curved, spatulate posterior projection, much wider distally, with posterior border convex (Fig. 23); aedeagal arch with median process slender, elongate, acuminate (Figs 25–26). Female subgenital plate wide anteriorly, narrowing distally, to end in a small concavity ( Fig.18 ). IX sternum pigmented, broadly triangular; V 2 +3 wide anteriorly, narrowing distally, with long setae along outer border ( Fig. 17 ). Male . Color (in 80% ethyl alcohol). Body pale brown, compound eyes black; legs with coxae, trochanters and femora creamy, tibiae and tarsi pale brown ( Fig. 2 ). Wings pale brown, tergal lobes of meso- and metathorax brown; abdomen creamy, with pale brown transverse rings, less pigmented ventrally; epiproct and paraprocts pale creamy brown. Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head with abundant setae (Fig. 22). Compound eyes prominent, with setae between the ommatidia. Forewing L/W: 2.77. Forewing pterostigma elongate, narrow anteriorly, much wider posteriorly, lp/wp: 3.09, with setae scattered in the membrane, mostly next to the costal border (Fig. 20). Areola postica broadly triangular. Hindwing L/W: 2.92 (Fig. 21). Phallosome (Figs 25-26), endophallus large, concave on sides and anteriorly, with a stout projection posteriorly in the middle; paraprocts (Figs 23, 24), broad posteriorly, sensory fields with 13 trichobothria in basal rosettes. Epiproct (Fig. 23), elongate, posteriorly rounded, with sides membranous and fields of setae mesally and along posterior border. Measurements (in µm).
