This species differs from other Myrcia species by having leaves 4–8 × 2.5–4.5 cm , a sulcate midvein on the adaxial lamina surface, 6–8 pairs of secondary veins; acuminate and unequal calyx lobes, 4 larger ( 2 mm long), 1 shorter ( 1 mm long) and subglobose fruit.
