Distribution and habitat.
Bachia trisanale
is endemic of western
Amazonia
, with its eastern distribution restricted to the upper Solimões, Juruá, and Purus river systems, occurring in
Brazil
,
Peru
, and
Ecuador
(
Fig. 3
). We examined only specimens from
Peru
and
Ecuador
; record from
Brazil
(state of
Acre
) was obtained from Teixeira
et al
. (2013b). As usual for
Bachia
, information about its ecology and habitat is scarce. Duellman (1978) found three specimens in a secondary forest; one was dug out of sandy soil; one was found in a trench; other under a rotting log in a clearing.
