Distribution in Israel : the records are all from arid rocky environments, with average annual temperatures between 18–24˚C and annual precipitations between 100–150 mm ( Fig. 2 D) Global distribution: it has been recorded from Mediterranean Africa and the Middle East, but the actual range is unclear. Taxonomic and nomenclatural notes. The species-level taxonomy of the genus Polyporogaster Verhoeff, 1899 needs revision and therefore the identification of the specimens could require reassessment.
