C. mexicanus can be differentiated by the elongate yellow stripe at elytra basal third or half, branch of the third antennomere slightly longer than twice of antennomere, and male genitalia with single-hooked parameres followed by short median hook. C. mexicanus sp. nov. 14–15. C. guatemalense sp. nov. Scales: 0.25 mm (Fig. 2), 0.5 mm (Figs. 1, 3-15). Description . Pronotum dark brown with lateral sides yellow. Elytra dark brown with yellow coloration from humeral region reaching basal third or half ( Fig. 19 ). When yellow spot reaches elytral midlenght, it also touches primary costa 1. Trochanters light brown, femora largely dark brown, with basal 1/6 light brown, tibiae dark brown. FIGURES 16–20. Habitus: 16. Cladocalon chiriquense comb. nov. 17. C. bugabense sp. nov. 18. C. histrionicum . comb. nov. 19. C. mexicanus sp. nov. 20. C. guatemalense sp. nov. Scales: 1.0 mm. Eye diameter 1.5× longer than interocular distance.Antennomeres 3 5 subequal ( Fig. 1 ). Branch of antennomere 3 2.2× longer than antennomere. Mandibles arcuate. Labial palpi short, terminal palpomere rounded apically. Terminal palpomere of maxillary palpi rounded distally, palpomere 2 elongate, 3× longer than 3 and 1.5× longer than 4. Pronotum almost as long as wide medially, anterior angles rounded. Elytra 4.2× longer than humeral width, intercostal intervals with mostly irregular small oval cells. Prosternum and mesosternum transverse, trapezoidal. Trochanters as long as third of femur length, tibiae as long as femur. Phallus broad medially, narrower than phallobase in ventral view, forming phallic folding slightly projected ventrally in lateral view. Phallus distally narrow and rounded. Parameral apices single-hooked, with a short median hook. Phallobase as long as 1/3 of phallus. Phallobase short, as long as third of phallus ( Figs. 12–13 ). Body length: 6.2 6.7 mm , humeral width: 1.4 mm . Distribution : Mexico . Etymology : Named after the country of distribution. Comments: Gorham (1884) considered individuals of this new species as a variety of Calocladon histrionicum , based mostly on color pattern but presenting longer humeral yellow stripe.
