Basonym: Lactobacillus vaccinostercus Okada et al . 1979 , 439 VL . Some strains of the species were previously designated as Lactobacillus durianis [ 246 ] Growth occurs between 15 and 40 °C, pH 4.4 and 7.5, and with pentoses, glucose and maltose as carbon source [ 247 ]. The genome size of the type strain is 2.57 Mbp. The mol% G+C content of DNA is 43.9. Isolated from cow dung and from fermented tea leaves and fermented cereals.
