Holotype , male, 6.8 mm , YPM 38659; paratype , female, 5.7 mm , YPM 38660. Material examined. Unmeasuered males and females, YPM 38659, YPM 38660, YPM 38661. Diagnosis based on description by Thomas & Klebba (2007) . Diagnosis. Mandibular palp article 2 with 18 setae. Gnathopod 1 coxa with long facial seta; carpus with distal setae. Gnathopod 2 carpus distally truncate; propodus mediofacial setal row displaced to midline, palm with one major and two minor tubercles. Coxa 6 with facial setae. Pereopods 5–7 bases narrowly expanded. Epimeron 3 posteroventral corner produced. Female (sexually dimorphic characters). Gnathopod 1 basis posterior margin with eight setae; carpus narrow. Habitat. Coral reefs, mangrove lagoons; 2– 15 m . Host. Ascidians: Phallusia (formerly Ascidia ) nigra and Ascidia curvata ( Traustedt, 1882 ) . Live specimens have a distinct brown checker back pattern. Distribution. Atlantic Ocean: Florida Keys ( Thomas & Klebba 2007 ). Caribbean Sea: Cuba ( Ortiz 1975 ), Belize ( Thomas & Klebba 2007 ), Panama ( White 2011 ).
