Comments:
MHNCUP/ANF 212–214 are the
syntypes
used by
Ferreira (1906)
in the description of
Rappia osorioi
,
a species named in homage to Baltasar Osório (1855-1926), a naturalist from the Museu Bocage.
Ceríaco
et al.
(2014b)
analyzed these specimens in a review of the type specimens published by
Ferreira (1904
,
1906
), confirming the species to be valid and found in northwestern
Angola
. Until very recently, the species had only been recorded from its type locality in
Angola
(
Marques
et al.
2018
), but field surveys in Serra do Pingano,
Uíge Province
, uncovered additional records of the species for the country (Ernst
et al
. 2020; LMPC pers. obs. (
Fig. 3
)).
