NOTES : Lister (1894: 172–173) commented on this variety “On dead leaves” but without giving any specific collection for the variety, just a general list of material studied. Ing (1967: 558), designated BM 1475 as the lectotype when he raised it to the rank of species. In BM there were also 4 slides located, 2 labelled L:B.M.142 from Lyme , Dorset , 3.1893, leg. Lister, and May.1888 respectively, that may be original material and so syntypes . The other two slides (s.n.) are from Highcliff, 18.5.91 with comments in notebook IV: 58, and from Highcliff, 3.3.93, with comments in VII: 73. These may also be syntypes although Ing (1967) did not consider them. There are two other boxes, BM 1384 and BM 1386 , from the same locality and mentioned by Ing, that may also be syntypes .
