Smriglio & Mariottini (1996 : 189, 191; 190, figs 17a–18b) and Oliverio & Tringali (2001: 127; 124, fig. 4; 125, fig. 11) already examined the couple of very worn shells that constitute the type material kept in the Monterosato collection. Both works considered Acteon candidulus a junior synonym of Acteon tornatilis (Linnaeus, 1758). Subsequently figured (1917, fig. 17) Recorded by MolluscaBase (2018) as a synonym of Acteon tornatilis (Linnaeus, 1758) .
