Narenta—Istria ”, “ Tipo di Monts. figurato nel Journ. de Conchyliologie 1899, p.” Type locality. Described from Narenta ( Croatia ). Remarks. Recorded by MolluscaBase (2018) as taxon inquirendum. The single shell found in the Monterosato collection (albeit not the one used for the original drawing), belongs to Flexopecten glaber (Linnaeus, 1758) [ new synonymy ]. The genus Proteopecten was introduced in the same paper.
