Diagnosis
. Shield slightly longer than broad; anterior margins straight between rostrum and lateral projections. Antennular peduncle not overreaching cornea. Ambulatory legs with sparse short setae; propodi with single longitudinal dark stripe on lateral face bordered by light stripe of similar width on either side.

Remarks
.
Clibanarius sclopetarius
and
C. vittatus
are very close morphologically, and very difficult to distinguish, when totally discolored.
