(

(

)
Miocryphalus longus

(original spelling)
Type material.
Holotype
, sex? [
Ethiopia
] Abyssinia,
Maraquo
,
Kovacs
[leg.] 1912 (
HNHM
).
Diagnosis.
Length 2.0 mm, 2.8 × as long as wide. Frons (male?) deeply concave, upper lateral margins acutely pointed; impressed area lightly rugose, with few coarse setae, a pair of small tubercles near epistoma; eyes separated above by 2.7 × their width.
Remarks.
Only the
holotype
is known and was collected in an unspecified locality in
Ethiopia
named ‘Maraquo’ (likely Mareko, south of Addis). This is one of two species with strongly concave frons, presumably male as in
A. concava
. It is distinguished from that species by the rough frons, more elongated shape of the body, and the broadly rounded anterior and posterior margins of the body.
