A) sternites V–VII, B) sternite IX, C) tegmen and penis in dorsal aspect. Abbreviations: p, penis; t, tegmen. Description . Male. Body oval, slightly convex above, shining, covered sparsely with fine setae. Coloration of body almost yellowish-brown; antennomeres 5–11 and tarsi infuscous; hind legs reddish brown; elytral maculation black, situated in apical half, not reaching elytral suture and apex. Head moderate in size, slightly convex above on dorsal surface, finely punctate; clypeus long and wide, expanded laterally, front margin almost straight. Eyes moderate in size, prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 2.3 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae slender, reaching ca. proximal 1/5 of elytra; approximate ratio of each antennomeres (n = 1) as 1.5: 1.0: 1.3: 1.7: 1.8: 1.7: 1.7: 1.7: 1.7: 1.5: 2.2. Pronotum slightly convex above in mesal part of the disc, punctured as on head; antero-lateral angles ca. 120º, projecting anteriorly; front margin almost straight; lateral margins gently arcuate; postero-lateral angles right-angled; posterior margin slightly bisinuate; PW/PL 2.20–2.28 (2.24). Scutellum relatively small, equilateral-triangular, punctured as on head. Elytra oblong, slightly convex above, widest at the middle; three pairs of faint costae running from base to near apices; shoulder parts elevated; EL/EW 1.42–1.49 (1.46); EL/PL 4.98; EW/PW 1.52–1.54 (1.53); TL/EW 1.71–1.79 (1.75). Legs relatively long. Hind tibial spurs short, curved laterally; dorsal spurs ca. 2.0 times as long as ventral ones, ca. 0.5 times as long as hind tarsomere 1. Sternites III–IV sparsely and evenly covered with short setae; sternites V–VII closely covered with relatively long setae; apical margin of sternite VII shallowly concave. Tergites VIII–IX damaged. Sternite IX lightly sclerotized, oval, covered closely with short setae in apical part. Tegmen large, well sclerotized; parameres very long, longer than basal portion of tegmen, straight with abruptly outcurved apices, much longer than penis. Penis small, rod-like in anterior part. Female. Unknown. Measurements . Male (n = 2): TL 4.90 & 5.98 mm ; PW 1.80 & 2.28 mm ; PL 0.82 & 1.00 mm; EL 4.08 & 4.98 mm ; EW 2.73 & 3.50 mm . Distribution . Malayan Penins. Etymology . This species is dedicated to the late Dr. Masataka Satô. Notes. Resembling Scirtes nigrofasciatus sp. n. , but dark apical spot elongate; parameres very long, apices incurved, apical portion of penis short, much shorter than parameres.
