:
Timms and Schwentner (2020)
redescribed this species, pointing out that there are two genetic lineages. Eastern portion of the
New South Wales
/
Queensland
border region,
Australia
. This species is a rock pool (gnamma) specialist.
Schwentner et al. (2020b)
demonstrate that this species is probably two or three highly endemic species.
Although never specifically mentioned in the original description, it would appear that the describers named this species after the Uruk-hai, a fictional breed of half human, half orc (goblin) from J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy books, “The Lord of the Rings”.
