Diagnosis.
Lateral tubercle of the prothorax prominent, placed about middle; elytra with centrobasal crest pilose, rounded, without carinae. Number of species currently included: 15.
Remarks.
According to
Gilmour (1961)
on
Cristurges
: “Somewhat allied to the genus
Lepturges
Bates
, from which the female is however immediately distinguishable through each elytron bearing a distinct setose centro-basal crest, the lateral pronotal spine is also stronger, more conical, placed nearer the middle of the side and more laterally directed.” These features do not allow the separation of
Cristurges
from
Lophopoeum
. In addition, the width of the prosternal and mesoventral process agrees with that of the
Lophopoeum
species. Accordingly,
Cristurges
is considered a junior synonym of
Lophopoeum
.
