This species was described from the USA associated with various halictid bees ( Cross 1965 ). It has been recorded from numerous bees from the families Andrenidae , Apidae , Halictidae , Megachilidae , Mutillidae , and Sphecidae in North America, on beetles Cicindella willistoni LeConte (Cicindellidae) in the USA , Ossibia sp. ( Cerambycidae ), Aphodius sp. ( Scarabaeidae ) in Sudan , and on undetermined scarab beetles in Canada , Egypt and South Africa (for references see Mortazavi et al . 2011 ). Herewith are the first records of this species from Sri Lanka and Burkina Faso . Material examined. SRI LANKA : 4 females on Orphnus sp., Wilpattu National Park , Talawila 9.X.1982 , G.
