Colour ( Fig. 11 ): head black, without conspicuous metallic reflections; eyes reddish, ocelli whitish; scape yellow; pedicel reddish-brown; flagellum brown except clava; clava with last two segments entirely yellowish, the first one only ventrally so; mandible yellow, teeth reddish-brown. Mesosoma black, with very slight bluish reflections; wings hyaline; tegula brown, venation lighter; fore and mid coxae brownish, hind coxa mainly dark; trochanters pale yellow; fore and mid femora and all tibiae and tarsi yellow; hind femora extensively light brown; tarsal tips brownish. Metasoma dorsally brown, with large dorsal pale spot; hind margin of tergites slightly darker; lateral and ventral sides of metasoma extensively pale yellow; ovipositor sheaths brown. Head slightly transverse in anterior view, without ornamentation; vertex with conspicuous setae; clypeal margin slightly emarginate, with one conspicuous projection on each side; gena strongly receding towards mouth, hollowed at mouth corner ( Fig. 29 ); temple very short; occiput slightly emarginate; each funicular segment with one row of sensilla; mandibles large, distal tooth sharp ( Fig. 29 ). Relative measurements—length: 23; width: 47; height: 42; POL: 9; OOL: 10; eye height: 24; eye length: 17; malar space: 11; mouth width: 19; distance between clypeal margin and toruli: 20; scape length: 19; pedicel length: 5.5; pedicel width: 3.5; pedicel plus flagellum: 55; F1 length: 5; F1 width: 5; F6 length: 5.5; F6 width: 5; clava length: 15; clava width: 5.5. Mesosoma arched ( Fig. 11 ), dorsal side with conspicuous setae; propodeum finely reticulate, alveoli very small; fore wing with basal cell bare, open below; basal vein pilose; ventral side of costal cell with three fairly regular rows of hairs; speculum in upper part reaching parastigma, but below progressing for some distance towards middle of wing; stigma short ( Fig. 11 ). Relative measurements—length: 65; width: 35; length of first tergite: 18; distance from base of metasoma to tip of hypopygium: 35. Distribution. Indonesia . Hosts. Unknown. Etymology. The name is derived from the Latin words “ pallidus ” (pale) and “ clava ” (club), and refers to the pale colour of clava, in contrast with the funicular segments. Comments. Apsilocera palliclava belongs to the group of species without ornamentation on the vertex. It differs from all the other species in this group mainly in having the hind coxa mostly dark, yellowish clava ( Fig. 11 ), gena hollowed at mouth corner, and clypeus emarginate, with one conspicuous projection on each side ( Fig. 29 ).
