This small xerophilous species, also belonging to the “
ultimaria
” group, was described as a form of
E. ultimaria
Boisduval
by Dietze. The
type
specimens were studied by
Schütze (1961)
, who described and illustrated the male and female genitalia and elevated it to a bona species. The species occurs from
Algeria
in the west to
Mongolia
and
China
in the east. It is very common in the desert areas of Central Asia.
