Dermatophagoides pteronyssoides .— Domrow 1992: 1493 . Host and locality in Australia : House dust, multiple localities ( Colloff 2009: 421–422 ). Current name of host : None. Notes . Fain (1966b) drew attention to the taxonomic and nomenclatural ambiguity surrounding the names Paralges pteronyssoides Trouessart, 1887 , Mealia pteronyssina Trouessart, 1897 , and Dermatophagoides scheremetevskyi Bogdanov, 1864 . Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus ( Trouessart, 1897 ) is not the oldest available name for this species, but I use it as valid here to conform with overwhelming prevailing usage, as recommended by Colloff (2009) and many other authors.
