Songana
gen. nov.
Type species:
Songana muscula
sp. nov.
Description.
Body robust and large, light beige to brown. Head in dorsal view roundly produced, somewhat narrower or equal in width to pronotum. Vertex with single large median dark spot. Face with frontoclypeus and anteclypeus relatively broad. Pronotum broad, with obvious muscle impression, dark medially. Scutellum with basal triangles dark and scutellar suture distinct. Forewing inner apical cell with distinctly angulate base; outer apical cell short, approximately half length of third apical cell; claval vein on forewings distinct. Hind wing with RA vein.
Male 2S abdominal apodemes small, not exceeding hind margin of 3rd sternite.
Male genitalia. Pygofer side broad, with caudal margin bluntly angulate medially, group of macrosetae at lower basal angle, several long fine setae scattered on posterodorsal margin and another group of long fine setae close to hind margin of lobe; dorsal appendage movably articulated basally, not extended beyond pygofer apex; apex of anal tube appendage and dorsal appendage connected with apex of aedeagal dorsal apodeme via ligament; microtrichia near dorsal and posterior margin well developed. Subgenital plate expanded apically in lateral view, broad basally and tapered distally in ventral view, with 3 macrosetae on outer surface near apical half of plate and row of short rigid microsetae along upper margin. Style with apex long and sharp, preapical lobe prominent but not acutely angulate, base slim in ventral view. Connective with central lobe broad, lateral arms and stem long, well developed. Aedeagus with preatrium and dorsal apodeme almost equal length, pair of long processes arising from base of shaft; gonopore terminal, on ventral surface.
Distribution.

Diagnosis.
The new genus is similar to
Gredzinskiya
Dworakowska,
1972
in body shape, the presence of both dorsal pygofer and anal tube appendages, and the presence of a group of macrosetae at lower basal angle and several long fine setae scattered on the posterodorsal margin of the male pygofer lobe, but differs as follows: apex of style obviously expanded; connective stem long, well developed; inner surface of pygofer hind margin lacking microsetae; vertex with pair of dark roundish patches; forewing with two dark markings. This new genus is also somewhat similar to
Georgetta
Dworakowska, 2011
, but differs in having the connective central lobe large, both dorsal pygofer and anal tube appendages present, a single large dark polygonal spot on the vertex medially and the dark marking on third apical cell of the forewing absent.
Etymology.
The genus name is an arbitrary combination of letters. The gender is feminine.
