Material examined. None. Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bahamas, Mexico ( Quintana Roo ), possibly Antigua ; Brazil ( Bahia and São Paulo ?) ( Chace 1972 ; Lemaitre 1984 ; Pires-Vanin et al . 1997 ; Anker & Komai 2004 ; Soledade et al . 2004—all records as A . rectifrons ; Soledade et al. 2015, as A . cf. rectifrons ). Previous records. São Sebastião Channel ( Pires-Vanin et al. 1997 , as A . rectifrons ). Remarks. Pires-Vanin et al . (1997) included A . rectifrons in a list of taxa sampled in the São Sebastião Channel, São Paulo , with no information about its geographic distribution, comments, or morphological accounts. Thus, the record of this species must be carefully considered and its occurrence in São Paulo requires further confirmation. Soledade et al. (2015) reported the occurrence of A . cf. rectifrons in the Abrolhos Archipelago, Bahia , Brazil . However, some differences between the specimens from Abrolhos and the type locality ( Quintana Roo , Mexico ) were observed (see Soledade et al . 2015 for a detailed comparison). We recommend the analysis of additional samples from both areas to draw a conclusion regarding the identity of the Brazilian material.
