P. niethammeri
sp. group
Remarks.
The shape of hind femur with strongly widened basal half and with a weak preapical notch distinguishes this species group from all known
Nocaracris
Uvarov. A
similar hind femur with weak preapical notch is also seen in some species of
Nocarodes
Fischer von Waldheim. Because
of this structure of hind femur
Ramme (1951: 297)
described
N. niethammeri
in the genus
Nocarodes
, but this similarity is superficial and the characters given in the generic key of
Nocarodeini
above (item 8) and the shape of phallus easily allow to distinguish it from
Nocarodes
.
