Ecology: —Common; saxicolous, less commonly epiphytic, often along roadsides, in humid forests; often grows with E. acutifolium ; 1400–3500 m . Notes: —Differs from the similar E. acutifolium by its sparse to moderately dense, whitish to pale brown, dissected, deciduous scales abaxially and/or adaxially on the blades.
