Haasea Verhoeff, 1895 - a genus of tumultuous history and chaotic recordsredefinition, revision of taxonomy and geographic distributions, with descriptions of two new species from Austria and Serbia (Diplopoda, Chordeumatida, Haaseidae) Author Antić, Dragan Author Akkari, Nesrine text Zootaxa 2020 2020-06-16 4798 1 1 77 journal article 21683 10.11646/zootaxa.4798.1.1 d8c0dac0-6b03-43f4-be6d-1dc3d3d9cfa3 1175-5326 3896551 4830ED2F-DB55-468E-97D4-2A278CBA6CE0 Haasea microcorna ( Strasser, 1971 ) Figs 19 , 20 , 38 , 42 Orobainosoma (Brachybainosoma) lacusnigri microcornum Strasser, 1971 Diagnosis. Differs from the other congeners, with exception of H. intermedia , H. lacusnigri , H. makarovi sp. nov. and H. plasana , by the presence of a strongly developed anterior lateral process on angioxocite. From H. lacusnigri , H. microcorna differs by 1) shape of the anterior lateral process (straight in H. microcorna vs. robust, posterior end strongly bent distad in H. lacusnigri ), 2) size and shape of posterior lamella (well-developed, bent down into an extension in H. microcorna vs. poorly developed, vestigial in H. lacusnigri ), 3) size of the posterior lateral process (small in H. microcorna vs. strongly developed and curved posteriad in H. lagusnigri ) or 4) size of mesal process (small in H. microcorna vs. strongly developed in H. lacusnigri ). From H. makarovi sp. nov. , H. microcorna differs by the 1) size and shape of mesal process (small, without teeth in H. microcorna vs. robust, with teeth in H. makarovi sp. nov. ), 2) size of posterior lateral process (small in H. microcorna vs. well-developed in H. makarovi sp. nov. ) 3) size and shape of posterior lamella (well-developed, bent down into an extension in H. microcorna vs. small, vestigial in H. makarovi sp. nov. ). H. microcorna seems to be the most similar with H. plasana and H. inter- media . From H. plasana , H. microcorna differs by the shape of the anterior lateral process (simple in H. microcorna vs. distally bifurcated in H. plasana ). From H. intermedia , H. microcorna differs only in size and shape of posterior lamella (shorter and bent down into an extension in H. microcorna vs. long and parallel with distal half of angiocoxite until the base in H. intermedia ), or by the geographic area ( H. microcorna presents in the Dinarides vs. H. intermedia presents in the Carpatho-Balkan arc). Serbia : Uvačka Cave, near Ušak ( Strasser 1971 ; Makarov 2008 ; present study), Tubića Cave, neat Tubići ( Makarov 2008 ), Baždarska Cave, near Ursule ( Makarov 2008 ; present study), Pećina u Potkapilijama Cave, near Trudovo (present study). Type locality. Ušačka Cave , village of Ušak , near Sjenica in Serbia . Comments. Originally described as a subspecies H. lacusnigri microcornum then it was raised to species level by Makarov (2008) . In his original description, Strasser (1971) did not point to the presence of a posterior lateral process (= “Cornicle”) in H. microcorna . This was already observed by Makarov (2008) and confirmed here in all examined topotypes and specimens from the other three caves as the posterior lateral process is always present.
