Lectotype ♀ designated here (ZMH-A0000200).
Taxonomic remarks.
Kraepelin describes the morphology of both sexes but does not give the number of specimens he examined and a very general locality “Turkestan”. In 1901, he re-described the female but also commented on the coloration of both sexes. The female specimen at
ZMH
clearly is part of the
type
series. There is a male
paratype
(
Zilch 1946
) at the
SMF
(catalog no. 9903357) with the locality data (
Usbekistan
Bochara: Turan) and
1♀
syntype
(catalog no. 8812) in
ZMB
(
Moritz & Fischer 1980
) from the locality Neu Margelan, Turkestan. They may also be part of the
type
series.
Collection remarks.
Interestingly, the original label reads Neu Margelan in Turkestan. Neu-Margelan actually refers to the town of Ferghana (Fargʻona) in the Fergana Region of eastern
Uzbekistan
, which should be treated as the
type
locality (not
Kazakhstan
as in
Harvey 2013
).
