Diagnosis
. Carapace without dorsal spines pseudorostrum, 0.22 times frontal lobe length, ocular lobe with seven marginal lenses and one in the middle, short siphon; maxilliped 3 propodus 1.53 times carpus length; uropodal peduncle 0.85 times last pleonite length, 1.94 times endopod length, 3 setae on medial margin; endopod with 5 setae on medial margin.

Smooth integument, 0.36 of entire body length, 2.12 times longer than high, 1.4 times as long as large, pseudorostrum 0.22 times frontal lobe length, ocular lobe with seven marginal lenses and one in the middle, short siphon and anterior margin, carapace without dorsal spines (denticle), smooth ventral margin.
Pereion, 0.26 times entire body length.
Pleon, 0.33 times entire body length.

Cumella sancristobalensis
sp. nov.
was collected from a shallow coastal reef and has not been found in mesophotic reefs at present.
