Distribution.
This Holarctic species ranges from northern Scandinavia to eastern Siberia, and from Alaska to the Mackenzie River in the Northwest Territories [see Goulet 1983: Fig. 171]. Fossil remnants of this species, believed to be 2.0-2.5 million years old, have been found in Greenland (Bennike and
Boecher
1990: 336;
Boecher
1995: 23).
