Diagnosis.
This species is similar externally to
E. zygospila
Meyrick, 1934
, but can be distinguished by the forewing having one indistinctly marked V-shaped pattern, while in the latter species, the forewing has two Vshaped patterns longitudinally. It is close to
E. damaoshanae
Wang & Zheng,
1997
in the male genitalia, but can be recognizd by the cucullus having a blunt dorsoventral tip, while the cucullus of
E. damaoshanae
has a pointed dorsoventral tip.
Distribution.
China
(Guangzhou,
Taiwan
).
Remarks.
Liu (1980)
described
E. guangzhouensis
based on five male and four female specimens collected from Guangzhou, with illustrations of male and female genitalia. After checking three male and two female
paratypes
, we found that the forewing patterns and the genitalia of
E. pseudozygospila
Kun & Szabóky, 2000
, known from
Taiwan
are identical to those of
E. guangzhouensis
Liu. So
we regard
E. pseudozygospila
Kun & Szabóky, 2000
as a synonym of
E. guangzhouensis
Liu.
