Claussen, 1988. PARALECTOTYPES EXAMINED: 2 ♀♀ ( MZUF : Box 6): Syntypus Cheilosia Mgn / honesta Rnd. / 257 / Cheilosia proxima (Zett.) , det. Claussen, 1988 / Paralectotypus Cheilosia honesta Rond. , ♀ , etik. Claussen & Thompson, 1996 . CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Peck 1988: 104 , Belcari et al. 1995a: 12 ); junior synonym of Cheilosia barbata Loew, 1857 ( Claussen & Thompson 1996: 277 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 30) described both sexes of Cheilosia honesta without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens. Claussen & Thompson (1996: 278) designated a lectotype ( ♂ ) and paralectotypes ( 2 ♀♀ ).
