Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and orange color after 3 days on MA at 30°C. In API 20NE, positive for esculin hydrolysis, but negative for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, indole production, urease, arginine dihydrolase, β -galactosidase, and gelatinase. D-glucose and malic acid are utilized. Does not utilize L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucos- amine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain HMF9223 ( = NIBRBAC000502525) has been isolated from beach sand, Pohang, Korea .
