The apex of the phallic apparatus has 3 pairs of spines on the ventral lobe and 4 pairs of spines on the dorsal lobes of the aedeagus or endotheca. A comparison of the wing venation in the newly collected specimens from Orissa and Rajasthan states in India confirms that they belong to H. rivalis Betten , earlier known from a single female only.
