Remarks
A. layardi
has long been in synonymy with
A. ungulatu
s
Perrier, 1872
until
Michaelsen (1913)
resurrected it. According to
Michaelsen (1913)
,
A. layardi
has a long and wide penial seta measuring
ca
.
8 mm
in length and 175 μm in diameter, ornamented with scattered spines. In
A. ungulatus
the penial seta is ca.
3 mm
long and 85 μm wide and ornamented with serrated bars. In our specimen, the penial seta is
7.9 mm
in length and 162 μm in diameter, ornamentation consists of scattered spines.
