Remarks A. layardi has long been in synonymy with A. ungulatu s Perrier, 1872 until Michaelsen (1913) resurrected it. According to Michaelsen (1913) , A. layardi has a long and wide penial seta measuring ca . 8 mm in length and 175 μm in diameter, ornamented with scattered spines. In A. ungulatus the penial seta is ca. 3 mm long and 85 μm wide and ornamented with serrated bars. In our specimen, the penial seta is 7.9 mm in length and 162 μm in diameter, ornamentation consists of scattered spines.
