Shell small, ovate, circular in transverse section, rounded aborally, and with sides converging to a very narrow apertural part, aperture very narrow, often just a pore, with thickened rim, or sometimes with a very narrow but distinct collar, shell surface smooth. Measurements. Shell length 10–13 µm, shell width 8–9 µm, aperture diameter 2–3 µm. Habitat. Freshwater, bogs. Geographical distribution. Australia , Russia , Crozet and Possession Island , Greenland , USA.
