Diagnosis.
This species is recognized within the genus
Megalotomus
by a combination of the following characters: body size relatively moderate, 12.0–14.0 mm in length, reddish brown or yellowish brown, with small and red spots on legs and corium of forewing; posterior region of ocellus with black spot; posterior angle of pronotum acute, but not ending in sharp spine; surcapsular spines of male genital capsule curved, tapering to a point, with the apices close to each other; parameres elongate, broadly extended and strongly curving in middle, with a large and a small spine midway, terminating with 3–5 small spines on both sides.

Remarks.
This species differs from others in the genus by its coloration.
