Genus
Chromanema
Khera, 1975
The genus
Chromanema
was described by
Khera (1975)
based in a single male from a freshwater pond in
India
. Apparently
Khera (1975)
compared
Chromanema
only to those genera of
Chromadoridae
also found in freshwater habitats. The author stated that
Chromanema
is close to
Chromadorella
in having a pharynx without distinct bulb, however differs from it in having a single dorsal tooth. The description of the only species,
C. solitarium
Khera, 1975
, presents some strange details, such as an anterior circle of sensilla with eight setae, which can be misinterpretation of what the author saw. There is no mention of
Chromanema
in
Lorenzen (1994)
and
Tchesunov (2014)
and we prefer to consider this genus as dubious due to the poor and questionable description based on a single male.
